Aerial images can offer a new perspective of the world,and that's especially apparent after a natural disaster. An aerial view can show the sheer damage of a powerful hurricane or a devastating flood or wildfire.

2020 handed the world plenty of wildfires,hurricanes and floods,as both one of the most active hurricane seasons on record and a record-breaking year for wildfires. This slideshow captures some of this year's most memorable weather events as seen from above,including November's landslide in Alta Verapaz,Guatemala,damage from a tornado in Nashville,Tennessee,in March and a December avalanche in Switzerland.
