How I Got To The Weather Now 24
I have been a meteorologist for more than 20 years. I’ve spent most of my career as an on-camera meteorologist in Beaumont,Texas;Shreveport,Louisiana;Miami,Florida;and most recently spent the last 10 years at CNN in Atlanta. I have covered some of the world’s most impactful weather during this time – everything from hurricanes to blizzards to fires and floods. I have a passion for writing and in recent years have shifted my focus to writing weather and climate stories on the digital side. I couldn’t be more excited about being a writer for what I truly believe is the best weather digital platform available.
What I Love About Working For The Weather Now 24
I love the teamwork, the collaboration and the friendly environment.
Favorite Core Weather Memory
I was in high school during the Benton,Louisiana, tornadoes in 1999. I was home alone and scared to death as I heard the tornado sirens and knew a tornado could strike at any moment. The EF4 tornado struck just 2 miles from our home. It killed seven people and was on the ground for nearly 20 miles and carved a path nearly 200 yards wide in some locations. The town was unrecognizable. That’s when I realized the power of Mother Nature and how the weather can change your life in the blink of an eye.
Favorite Weather Condition
Sunny and 72 degrees
Favorite Book
I love historical fiction;Ken Follett is one of my favorite authors.
